Solange has announced a special “Orions Rise” show in Boston, with all proceeds benefiting Hurricane Harvey relief. The show will take place at the Orpheum Theater on September 28. The Houston native joins an impressive roster of celebrities committed to aiding victims of the hurricane which has claimed at least 38 lives so far, leaving parts of southeastern Texas and Louisiana underwater.

Solange shared the following statement on Instagram:

"I will be doing a special ‘Orion’s Rise’ show in Boston, and ALL proceeds will go towards Hurricane Harvey Relief. I’m committed to partnering with organizations on the ground in Houston and making contributions to uplift the city that raised me with so much love. See you September 28th Boston, I thank you in advance for making this a special meaningful night!”

Solo also added an additional date in New York (October 3) to her ever-expanding tour. In honor of her hometown’s third ward, $3.00 from every ticket will be donated to Hurricane Harvey relief. Her sister, Beyoncé, along with her church and philanthropic arm, BeyGOOD, have also pledged to provide aid to those affected by the natural disaster. On a new page of her website, Bey announced that she’s partnered with Bread of Life and Greater Houston Community Foundation, two local organizations "who have been working with the displaced from the start of Hurricane Harvey's landfall.” Donations will go toward "long-term revitalization” and aid in purchasing various immediate needs including cots, blankets, wheelchairs, feminine products, diapers and more.

In other feel good news, Carpark Records and associated labels are donating their Bandcamp proceeds to Hurricane Harvey relief efforts today as well.
