We still don't get what a room without a roof is.

In a humorous bit of news, Pharrell Williams, the man behind “Happy,” a.k.a. the song from 2013’s Despicable Me 2 and arguably the year’s biggest earworm, had a taste of his own medicine when he was trapped in an elevator on Thursday.

"Ironically, [his song] ‘Happy’ was playing on the sound system. He was with his security team and about 12 other people,” said a source from Page Six. "He kept calm and collected until the fire department arrived. They never got the door fully open, so everyone had to climb through the door to get out.” The singer songwriter was trapped in the elevator for nearly half an hour. We don't know for sure if the song was on repeat, but if it was, that means it played approximately 7 times before everyone got out, which wow, rough.

The event occurred while he was on his way to the premiere of his new Netflix animated series True and the Rainbow Kingdom. “Well, we were stuck in the elevator, but now I’m here,” said Pharrell unfazed by the experience. "It was hot in there!"
