The Grit And Glam Of SXSW In 18 Photos
Featuring Solange, Saba, and the rest of our favorites from SXSW.
And we're back—the TrackRecord team has returned from the SXSW 2017 Music Festival (our first time!).
We spent the week talking to our favorite up-and-coming artists who stopped by SXSW (Jay Som, Stef Chura, Lisa Prank, and many more—videos to come), standing in long lines for sweaty shows (Solange's was by far the longest, and most worth it), and wandering Austin's 6th Street in search of a decent slice of pizza (slim pickings, Austin's more of a Tex Mex town—but Roppolo's did the trick).
We lived, we laughed, we loved—it was crazy and sleepless and worth it. And our first day back in the office, we kind of miss it! But not enough to start thinking about planning our trip for next year’s SXSW for a few months (although, if you’re serious about going, the time to book your hotel, truly, is right now).
To tide you over until SXSW 2018, get an eye-full of these shots of our favorite sets—we saw Saba and Solange, Diet Cig and !!!, and snapped a photo of Daryl ‘DMC’ McDaniels in a moment where which he was not actually flying out of his chair, reciting the rhymes he grew up with as he shared intimate details about his childhood and career, during an intimate sit-down with Hard Knock TV’s Nick Huff at SXSW.
